Surface brightness profiles encode the stellar mass distribution, disk structure, and merger history of galaxies. AutoProf automates the extraction of these profiles in a robust, non-parametric way — handling masking, sky subtraction, and ellipse fitting without per-galaxy tuning — and is designed to scale to surveys containing millions of objects.
